China GT Drivers Have A New Pathway To Compete Internationally

Further building upon their successful partnership, the China GT Championship and SRO Motorsports have set up a new pathway for China GT AM drivers to participate in international competition at Intercontinental GT Challenge series races. After the China GT’s season finale, GT3 class AM drivers who have accrued the most points will be granted a complimentary entry to compete in a 2019 Intercontinental GT Challenge event of their choice in the PRO/AM or AM/AM class, with China GT Championship and SRO Motorsports sharing equal sponsorship for the entry.

In recent years, China’s motorsports scene has undergone a significant amount of growth, marking a turning for Chinese motorsports and opening up a wealth of global opportunities for drivers and team members to develop their skills and specialities among international peers at the iconic GT events around the world. The increased participation of Asian drivers and teams in the 24 Hours of Spa and Bathurst 12 Hours further proves this trend.

The China GT Championship has fulfilled a key role in fueling the steady growth of Chinese motorsports, and continues to do so. Entering its third season in 2018, China GT is aware of its drivers’ desires to compete in the aforementioned headline events to further enhance their racing careers, and also derive increased personal satisfaction from motorsports. The 2018 season will have its official two day test at Beijing Goldenport Motor Park on the 21st and 22nd of April, ahead of the 12- race calendar which kicks off at Zhuhai International Circuit on the 11th to 13th of May.
