B-Quik Racing has announced that their long relationship with Audi Sport customer racing Asia will continue. Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup mentors Rahel Frey and Adderly Fong will join Daniel Bilski in the Thailand Super Series (TSS) Super Car GTM+ class. Their Audi R8 LMS Ultra GT3 was driven by Daniel Bilski and Henk J. Kiks in the Sepang opening race, with the pair managing a podium finish in a solid debut. Henk will be driving B-Quik’s new second GTM+ entry at Buriram on the 1st to 3rd of June, and Frey will be paired with the Australian for both 1-hour races.
The Swiss racer will make an invaluable addition to the line-up with her extensive technical knowledge of the R8 LMS GT3 cars, gained from racing across Asia in the Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup from 2013 to 2016 following 2 seasons as an Audi factory DTM driver. Her arrival in Thailand follows a stint as a professional mentor at the Cup’s Nürburgring race just two weeks back. B-Quik are setting a new milestone by being the first team ever to enter a female driver in the TSS Super Car premier national Thai category.
For 2018’s third race taking place in Bangsaen, Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup mentor Adderly Fong will take over co-driving duties with Daniel. Fong’s record speaks for itself and will combine with Daniel’s experience with the car and the Bangsaen Street Circuit to create a formidable line-up with high chances of victory. Finally, B-Quik Racing will take part in the Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup 2018’s finishing race at Sepang Circuit on November 24th-25th, neatly book-ending a year which started with Daniel and B-Quik entering the one-make series’ March opening round in Adelaide
Marking the partnership’s evolution, the #27 Audi will carry “Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup” logos at the Buriram and Bangsaen races. B-Quik Racing’s partnership with Audi began in 2014 when they raced an R8 LMS Cup in the Super Car class, growing eventually to run 3 cars at times in 2017’s inaugural GTM Plus category. This gave B-Quik its first Teams’ title after Daniel put in an impressive drive at the season’s final race, outpacing the faster GT3 cars through torrential rain to take the overall win and rounding off B-Quik’s program with the Cup car.
The team also participated in the Sepang 12 Hours 3 times from 2014 to 2017, securing 3 podium finishes including victory in 2016, third place in 2015 and second overall in 2014. The Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup championship turned out to be another successful hunting ground for the team and Daniel, winning the 2015 Am Cup and the Masters Cup in 2016. B-Quik Co. Ltd. TM, Thailand’s premier automotive servicing chain with 146 service centers spread across the nation, is a key supporter of B-Quik Racing.
Henk J. Kiks (Managing Director, B-Quik Racing): “We’re very pleased to be able to develop further our relationship with Audi as we head into our fifth season racing with their products. We have enjoyed lots of success with the R8 LMS so far, not least winning the Sepang 12 Hours and, just last year, bagging the Thailand Super Series Super Car team title so we know their cars are fast, capable and reliable while the technical support we have always received has been exemplary. This step forward is great for B-Quik Racing. We are really motivated and will be working extra hard to take full advantage of this opportunity and deliver results this year.”
Daniel Bilski: “I am absolutely delighted by the announcement of B-Quik Racing’s extended relationship with Audi Sport Customer Racing. Having been involved with Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup and B-Quik Racing for a number of years has been an incredibly rewarding journey for me personally, as a driver and as a competitor. I’m really excited to showcase Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup branding on our car in Buriram and Bangsaen, and to have two awesome ‘Cup’ mentors as driving partners for the upcoming races. I know Rahel and Adderly well and it’s really exciting to be driving with them for the first time in the coming races. We are there to perform, and to get results, but just as importantly, I’m sure we will have a lot of fun. I can’t wait. Finally, a very big thank you to all of our sponsors and partners for their support.”
